The Margarita is one of the best-known classics of the cocktail world. The history of its creation is uncertain. However, as its main ingredient is tequila, we do know that the cocktail comes from Mexico, the world’s number 1 country for agave! Rumour has it that the first Margarita was mixed in a bar sometime between 1938 and 1939. The bartender named it after a performing girl, whose name was probably very similar to today's cocktail. Like any other classic, it’s quite variable and can feature the personal touches of professional or hobby barkeepers. The one essential thing is that it has to be made with a good tequila!
